Today I'm teaming up with 3 other fabulous bloggers to show all you pretties different ways to wear navy and white. The amount of navy and white items in my closet is endless, it seems to be a favorite color combination of mine. Unfortunately though, I feel like it gets a bit boring after wearing it so many times. I love to add a pop of color to brighten up the outfit by using shoes (as seen here), jewelry, or a fun bag.

Be sure to check out Navy & Orange, The Now Stylebook, and Julie Leah to see how these wonderful ladies styled navy and white :)

I was a little hesitant to wear my new Converse with a more feminine outfit, but I love the way it turned out. The balance between preppy, sporty, and girly is just perfect.

I love that blogging brings me out of my comfort zone and encourages me to try new things. Thanks for all the support pretties! :)

Happy Friday pretties! I took these photos last week and completely forgot about them, yay for an extra outfit post!

I wasn't sure how fond I was of the black and white (ya know how things look better in your head?), but in the end I figured every gal needs a simple black and white go-to outfit. Oh, and I forgot to wear sunnies, oops!

Headed home from Hawaii soon, sadness. It'll be a long trek which makes leaving seem even less appealing. I am excited to get home to my men though; daddy, my brother Hansen, and Christian are getting a little lonely.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Summer Layering

Layering always gets tricky in the summer, you don't want to be too warm or too cool. As an Arizona girl, I usually layer on top in case I get too hot and need to remove a layer. The cooler weather in Pinetop inspired me to throw this chambray on underneath my favorite shift dress instead and it's now a favorite look. Definitely going to be layering underneath when headed to cooler climates from now on.

And who doesn't love a drop waist dress? I feel like they look good on most body types and are so feminine and comfortable. Get yourself one gals, I promise you'll love it!

So excited to be featured in the Three-fer Thursday blog hop seen here and here as well as on the Tres Chic Thursday Fashion Linkup :)

Nautical

outfit details: blazer: similar, skirt: J. Crew, shoes: J. Crew, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, sunglasses: Chanel (similar), tee: J. Crew, anchor necklace: Poshlocket, chain: similar

When in doubt, go nautical. It's such a classic style that can carry you through the summer no matter what the "trends" are.

My favorite nautical look includes:

  • navy blazer (with gold detailing)
  • anchor accessories
  • everyday crossbody
  • boat shoes (in LOVE with Sperrys)
  • gold chain jewelry
  • aviators
  • plain tee
  • colorful skirt
  • blue, red, white (and/or pink & yellow)
Plus, throw on a nautical look and you'll immediately feel like you're on a yacht, who wouldn't love that?! :)

Splurge vs. Save

photo Screenshot2013-05-06at121527AM_zps1ffba118.pngHappy Monday gals! I hope everyone's weekends were wonderful.

I had such an amazing weekend relaxing and hanging with my parents at our cabin in Pinetop. It's so beautiful there. The weather was perfectly sunny and chilly all at the same time, something we don't get often here in Arizona. We ate lots of yummy food, relaxed, went on morning walks, and spent lots of time outside. Just what I needed before this last week of finals.

I'm one of those girls who has expensive taste and a small budget, so I love finding less expensive pieces that replicate designer ones. How perfectly similar is that clutch? It amazes me what you can find out there when you research your purchases.
