Groovy

outfit details: top: J. Crew, vest: Dillards, jeans: Gap, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, sunglasses: Chanel, lipstick: MAC's Candy Yum Yum, necklace: J. Crew

The first thing Christian said to me when I walked up in this outfit was, "Well, you look groovy!". Not necessarily the best compliment in the world, but I'll take it. It made for a nice "peace sign" pose, that's for sure! I just get so bored of the same fall looks and like to mix them up with different colors and styles so I thought the bright lipstick and flared jeans added something fun.

Christian and I are headed to Idaho today to see his family. I can't wait for the beautiful weather, yummy food, and wonderful company. Have an amazing weekend and I will see you all back here on Monday! :)

Chevron

outfit details: skirt: Ann Taylor, top: Nordstrom, shoes: DVF, sunglasses: Prada, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, necklace: J. Crew, bracelets: J. Crew, Stella & Dot Eden, Stella & Dot Renegade, rings: Ariella

Just a quick outfit post for today, I'm in the midst of midterms and all that fun stuff. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Booties

outfit details: dress: Lulu's, booties: DV by Dolce Vita, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, necklace: J. Crew, bracelets: Stella & Dot Eden, Stella & Dot Renegade, vintage, rings: Ariella, Lulu's, sunglasses: Karen Walker

Good news, I'm back up and running! I did end up having mono and although I'm completely exhausted I feel much better than I did before.

I ordered this dress from Lulu's last week and love it's patriotic colors and flowy shape (yes, I know "flowy" isn't a word). I debated whether or not to wear heels or flats with it but ultimately decided on booties. They aren't too dressy but are a step up from sandals. Plus, they add a fun western flare and fall style to the look. I only own one pair of booties but am looking so forward to buying more for the cooler months ahead.

Boyfriend Jeans

outfit details: blouse: Ann Taylor, jeans: Gap, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, sunglasses: Karen Walker, necklace: J. Crew, shoes: J. Crew, rings: Ariella, Brandy Melville

I've always been a little hesitant about boyfriend jeans due to their oversized shape. Although I still prefer a slimmer cut, boyfriend jeans are perfect for a casual night out. Plus, they're ridiculously comfortable. It's been so hot here in Arizona, I'm getting a little tired of it. For now I'm just sweating it out in long sleeves and jeans;) Happy weekend pretties!

Pleather

outfit details: top: Nordstrom, jeans: Gap, shoes: DVF, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, necklace: J. Crew, bracelets: J. Crew, Stella & Dot, C Wonder, rings: Ariella, lipstick: YSL Rouge Volupte #11, sunglasses: Prada

Pleather always made me think of hip hugging 70's bell bottoms in ridiculous colors, until now. I love the look of leather clothing but can't get myself to splurge quite yet (unless some fabulous jacket comes along). Thankfully though, there are so many great faux leather options out there that pleather has taken on a whole new meaning.

On another note, I dropped Christian off early this morning for his first University of Arizona golf tournament. I'm so proud of him for qualifying for this first tournament as a newbie on the team. And guess what? They're going to Pebble Beach! Lucky ducks, I told him I was gonna sneak into his suitcase ;)

Thanks for reading pretties!

Transitioning

top: Topshop, jeans: Rebecca Minkoff, bag: Coach, earrings: J. Crew, shoes: Zara, sunglasses: Karen Walker, lipstick: MAC, watch: Michael Kors

As I've mentioned before, fall is my favorite season. Aside from all of the wonderful activities that come along with the season, the clothes are just incredible. There are so many rich tones and I love having the ability to layer (although in AZ that's rare in the early fall). My fall favorites for this year include deep red lips, embellished sweatshirts, boyfriend jeans, oversized watches, metallic shoes, and statement earrings. What are your favorite fall pieces?

Edgy Meets Glam

outfit details: jacket: Aéropostale c/o, dress: Banana Republic, shoes: Steve Madden, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, necklace: J. Crew, bracelets: Stella & Dot Renegade, Stella & Dot Arrow, vintage, sunglasses: Chanel via Ebay, lipstick: MAC's Candy Yum Yum

I think this may just be my favorite outfit, ever. I am so in love with this fabulous Aéropostale jacket. Can it be fall yet so I can wear it everyday?

On a side note, I have been wondering for months why my photos look so clear and vibrant on my computer but so dull when I post them. I finally figured it out last night, hallelujah!! Happier than a camel on hump day ;) I'm getting prouder of my images each and every day, I know it takes time. Christian isn't a professional photographer and I'm sure as heck not a professional editor but we are getting there. Thanks for takes amazing pictures C!

Crossbody Cravings

With school, errands, and a summer job, I've come to realize that a crossbody bag is a girl's best friend. They can be stuffed full for a day with lots to do or worn without the strap for a night out.

My favorite styles are those that are spacious and neutral for everyday and those that are fun and chic with room for some lipstick and a phone.

What do you pretties think about the crossbody bag, yay or nay?

Stripes on Stripes

I've always been hesitant to wear stripes on stripes as it has a tendency to make the vertically challenged (me) look short and stumpy. But, I'm loving this skirt paired with a wider striped blouse and heels. Blogging is so fun as it has helped me to step outside the box and discover new favorite outfits!

I relaxed all weekend and did some nice post-finals online shopping (shhh). How was everyone's weekend?

Nautical

outfit details: blazer: similar, skirt: J. Crew, shoes: J. Crew, bag: Rebecca Minkoff, sunglasses: Chanel (similar), tee: J. Crew, anchor necklace: Poshlocket, chain: similar

When in doubt, go nautical. It's such a classic style that can carry you through the summer no matter what the "trends" are.

My favorite nautical look includes:

  • navy blazer (with gold detailing)
  • anchor accessories
  • everyday crossbody
  • boat shoes (in LOVE with Sperrys)
  • gold chain jewelry
  • aviators
  • plain tee
  • colorful skirt
  • blue, red, white (and/or pink & yellow)
Plus, throw on a nautical look and you'll immediately feel like you're on a yacht, who wouldn't love that?! :)
